A Quiet Protector (Anti-Portrait) (Print)

I have found that when we meet someone for the first time, we tend to bring our own knowledge, opinions, baggage, and history into the interaction and project it onto them. We don’t get the opportunity to know them, experience their character from a loved one’s perspective. We unintentionally meet a mirror of ourselves, our own biases; and we are, in fact, personally bias creatures.

I wanted to create a series of work that forces the viewer to experience a person’s character (good and bad), to know what it is like to be near them by those that love them, meet them without an opportunity for initial personal judgement.

Tim: To know you, is to ride with the structure, silence, and solitude of a mob boss, and the guiding hand of a compassionate father. An artist without tools, you see beauty in all the colors life offers and tackle challenges with courage. Showing others how to lean into experiencing the depth in a note of a song, the sun on New Orleans Oaks, colors in a flower; everyday wonder. Yours is the company of safety, guidance, bad jokes, and beauty.

I’d love to discuss commission ideas for an anti-portrait of you (or a loved one) and get to know you (or someone you love) a little better! (Print)
