Back Story:

               This piece is a representation of the healing journey I have been moving through. The softness, openness, and the unsure nature of overcoming the rage that had always served me. Learning to live with vulnerability is an incredibly daunting journey, one where I have looked back often to wonder if I was better off closed off and cold. Safe.

                It takes many attempts, overcoming the urge to regress, failing and trying again, having bravery to layer helpful tools and persist down odd pathways to find yourself again, once lost. From ink, to acrylic, collage, modeling paste, sgraffito, drawn lines of pen, glazing, and so on this piece was built as a dedication, a temple, to self.

                The path to Self: Be curious! Not a control freak! Slow down, search for clarity and understanding within yourself, practice self-compassion even when it feels impossible! Let that curiosity show in your connection with those around you.
