Hear X Evil, See X Evil, Speak X Evil is a piece for moral contemplation. Meant to stimulate thoughts on how you are made to be perceived as the villain when refusing to put up with others uncalled for behavior, cruel manipulative tactics, spreading of lies and deceit, or acts of injustice. Unlike the sarcastic version of this idea, which implies that someone who has knowledge of evil acts will willingly ignore it, making them exempt from consequences; I would like to look at the real consequences of putting your foot down in the face of Evil. Evil will not slink away quietly back to the shadows, it will try and persuade your loved ones that you were the true evil all along, it will try and uproot that which grounds you and brings you safety, it will confuse your decisions and make you question yourself. Evil wants to be allowed to do what it does best, whatever it wants. When you put a stop to that, Evil becomes offended that you’d have the audacity to intervene. This piece is about saying “Screw It!”, wearing your horns with pride and knowing that you did what you had to do, regardless on what Evil has decided to do with you.  “Look not at what is contrary to propriety; listen not to what is contrary to propriety; speak not what is contrary to propriety; make no movement which is contrary to propriety” (Analects of Confucius).
